Book Recommendations

Here's a list of books I've recently read (or reread) that I think are worth checking out.

  • American Gods by Neil Gaiman. I won't spoil anything about this book other than to say that the title is well chosen. Rich characterizations and a journey worth sharing. Much darker than Neverwhere or Good Omens(written with Terry Pratchett), which are also excellent.
  • Metaplanetary by Tony Daniel. A solid novel about a nanotech, AI-filled future. A very imaginative premise with great execution.
  • Anything by Vernor Vinge.

Some Classic Rereadables

Here are some books I occasionally drag out to reread during long trips.

  • The Demolished Man by Alfred Bester. If Dick Wolf reads this book, plan on seeing Law & Order: Telepathic Manhunter.
  • Dune by Frank Herbert. Ignoring the David Lynch's interesting failure and the slightly better Sci-Fi TV miniseries, the original book form of the story is a special treat to enjoy every few years.
